Thank you to all those who participated in the conferences of 2007, 2008, 2010, 2012. The creativity, critical thought, and inspiration has reverberated world wide. We are sad there will be no more conferences but will always cherish the amazing experiences it offered us and the amazing artists and scholars we had the honour of meeting. The International Bellydance Conference of Canada was created by Yasmina Ramzy in order address the concerns and needs of today's Middle Eastern Dancer in Canada and around the world.

The conference serves to foster a broad range of education, networking opportunities, and artistic inspiration. It supports the community in its efforts to make the general public more of aware of this rich and politically historical art form.

 

UPDATE: Natalia Fadda sends her deepest regrets that it was not possible for her to attend this conference. It turns out that the Canadian Embassy in Russia has an almost impossible list of requests for those acquiring a work visa. She was given the approval from Services Canada but it was not possible after much effort to fulfill all the outrageous requests in time. Who would have thought the process was easier in Egypt? We are all very sorry in this matter. However, we quickly were able to find another celebrated and unique artist Zahra Zohair whose silky style and flawless technique will add much to the conference.   HEARTBREAKING NEWS: Tito Seif & Khairiyya Mazen have been detained in Egypt and will not be able to attend the IBCC 2012. We are deeply saddened and infuriated by this last-minute discovery. Mahmoud Reda Sahra Saeeda, Tamalyn Dallal and Sahsar Zarif have graciously offerd to fill in the vast void of Tito and Khairiyya's absence.
